I FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT!

I recently read an old poem by Alexander Pope.

"A Little Learning is a Dangerous Thing"

A little learning is a dangerous thing;
Drink deep, or taste not the Pierian spring:
There shallow draughts intoxicate the brain,
And drinking largely sobers us again.
Fired at first sight with what the Muse imparts,
In fearless youth we tempt the heights of Arts;
While from the bounded level of our mind
Short views we take, nor see the lengths behind,
But, more advanced, behold with strange surprise
New distant scenes of endless science rise!
So pleased at first the towering Alps we try,
Mount o'er the vales, and seem to tread the sky;
The eternal snows appear already past,
And the first clouds and mountains seem the last;
But those attained, we tremble to survey
The growing labours of the lengthened way;
The increasing prospect tires our wandering eyes,
Hill peep o’er hills, and Alps on Alps arise!

What I pulled from this poem is that not knowing enough is dangerous. This can be in any area of your life. Whether that may be school, college, spiritual life, a little learning is quite dangerous. I want to speak about this poem in terms of in your spiritual life.

In line 2, "drink deeply". Feed the Word of God into your life daily. Not knowing enough of His Word, you may not experience His blessings. I say this because, in order to live for God, you must constantly seek the Word of God.

Never become short-sided. In your spiritual journey, I stress to you to always search for what God wants you to do or say. The presence of the Lord is with you every single moment. It's up to you to practice and obey it. Becoming short-sided in your spiritual walk can hurt you in not fulfilling what the Lord is calling to you.

Lastly, learning is a great thing. If you are not learning more about God, then are you really following and trusting Him? It would be hard to do so if you are not constantly learning more about who He is. Learn more about Jesus. Learn more on what He wants you to do for His kingdom.

Psalm 119:9 "How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word."
